I have a first degree relative here as an inpatient in her 2nd week. This is her second inpatient treatment facility and like most addicts, she has comorbid mental health conditions. I read some of the other reviews and I also want to say that I'm a health care professional with 18 years of experience. Know that benzodiazepines and ethanol (alcohol) withdrawal/detox can be fatal under the most ideal conditions & while I don't know the circumstances in which a pt. here died, I do know this happens even under a hospitals care. Even with insurance coverage, this 30 day program is costing close to $3,100.00. I imagine full cash customers may receive a discount as most places do. I was offered a payment plan. There's a gym, basketball court, pond with koi, swimming pool, and other things you would expect like cafeteria, group rooms etc..the grounds are well kept and open. Several cabins house residents. Her last treatment facility was based off State Medical Insurance only. It was over Christmas time, and it was depressing. A hospital like setting with people with no options/ family & very hard stories. This place has a very different feel. Family sessions and visiting feel productive. Other residents offer positive feedback & participate. Hope & learning as well as realistic goals, resources & aftercare are central. Every type of person is there-young, old, odd, professional. I don't have any complaints about staff myself or from my loved one thus far. I think the cost is fair for what's being provided & the amount of staff required for an inpatient facility of this size. I'll update this review if something goes differently.
I was just discharged from The Right Step, Wimberley, TX, yesterday. This place and all of their AMAZING staff, including RAs, Counselor, Doctors, Nurses, Kitchen staff SAVED MY LIFE! After years of addiction I feel stronger and more equipped to face this disease head on. There are only minor things I would change: I think the women should have a large covered smoking area like the men do. The two small covered areas would get soaked in the rain and we were still required to smoke there. We would have to stand there to have a cigarette because chairs were soaked. It was cold, wet and uncomfortable. I think the women deserve an equivalent to the men, who have a large roof covered patio. It's only fair. Otherwise, not much to complain about. Some staff were better, kinder than others, but I won't name drop here. Overall, I would definitely choose them over again. Going to Right Step was the best decision of my life and I am grateful beyond words! -Amanda M.
This is a great place. Right step thank you for all you did for my family member they are alive and in recovery. My apologies for bad reviews but people expire as a result of abusing drugs and not because of the good work you are doing for this vulnerable population keep doing the great work you are doing for our family memebers. God bless all of your staff for the love and concern for their patients! Excellent service!! I didn’t care about phone calls my family member called me and I had no problems communicating with him. I know you all are busy taking care of your patients as you should be. The regular hospital is the same way I expect the same patients are priority. Much love and respects keep up the great work!
Everyone who works here is amazing. It is a friendly and welcoming environment. My husband is currently a patient and I couldn't be happier with the care he is receiving.
Have been here, and the people here are great. The RAs and counselors, all the staff really are in it for the love of helping people and seeing them save their own lives. Yes, they can be tough, and they are pretty stringent about the rules, but they are like that with the client's best interests at heart. What alot of people don't realize is, that you didn't stop your addiction to do what ever activity, so why stop your recovery? If you really get down to brass tacks, I understand that is a "tough love" way to look at it, but that's EXACTLY what most of us need. INCLUDING ME. I am so glad these people were there, I wish I could name certain ones, but I respect their anonymity. Take the tools they give you, and run with them, and you can have an amazing life. But, it won't happen if you don't do the work. Thank you TRS, for showing me the way to save MY OWN LIFE!!!! 💜💙❤✌
I just entrusted the staff at "The Right Step" with my most prize possession, my husband. The admission staff was very helpful, and thoughtful. They answered my multiple calls and questions. They even understood our natural delays in regards to arrival. It was hard for him to volunteer to be apart from me and it was so hard to leave the love of my life there but Ashley and Kira made it easier for us both. So far everything has been great, my husband just got admitted yesterday but has called and said he feels good about the facility so far. I will continue to update this review. 06/07/2016
